Accused, son of another beggar, took a stick lying nearby and hit the victim till he fell unconscious.
The death of a resident of Bazaar Street in Puttur of Chittoor district has generated a lot of interest on social media.
Hyderabad: A person seeking alms was battered to death by another young beggar. The victim, Ahmed Abdulla, 70, used to come to Mirchowk with his wife Asha Bi, 65, seeking alms and lived with what they used to get.
On Thursday night, Feroz, 19, the son of another beggar, accidently tripped on Asha Bi’s legs, leading to heated argument between the two, according to police.
Ahmed Abdulla later joined the argument and an outraged Feroz took a stick lying nearby and hit him till he fell unconscious, said Rein Bazaar inspector Mohd Abdul Javeed.
The victim was shifted to Osmania Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested the accused and booked him under Section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code.
