Hyderabad: Depressed by his loneliness, a 29-year-old techie working for Cognizant committed suicide at Raidurgam on Wednesday. Police said that V. Avinash was found hanging on the ceiling fan at the hostel where he was staying. Avinash, who hailed from Bhadradri Kothagudem district, was working as an associate software engineer. He was staying at the Succasa Men's Hostel in Cyber Hills from November 2016 and was sharing the room with a person who works as a tax consultant for an MNC.
Avinash was in UK for a year and had returned in November 2016. Since then he was depressed due to loneliness. On Wednesday he returned from office and his roommate left for work. When he came back at midnight, he found Avinash hanging from the ceiling on a bed sheet.
Police said they did not find any suicide note or anything suspicious in his room or on his mobile phone and WhatsApp conversations. His parents said that there was nothing suspicious and he could have committed suicide due to depression. Police registered a suspicious death case and handed over the body after post-mortem.
