GHMC men razing illegal building face women's ire
Hyderabad: GHMC town planning officials demolishing a building, were attacked by women who threw stones at them. This residential building was constructed after the cutoff date of October 2015. The GHMC has so far demolished 45 such illegal buildings which were built after the deadline.
The Women pelted stones to stop the demolition work at Ghouse Nagar area, Umda hills colony, Bandlaguda. All the assistant city planners (ACPs) have been instructed to take immediate action against the unauthorised constructions that have come up after the BRS and LRS cut-off date — October 28, 2015 — as per the provisions of HMC Act.
The GHMC is also taking the assistance of the National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA) in identifying the unauthorised constructions that have come up after cut-off date using satellite imagery data wherein high-resolution satellite images of 0.3 mt is available for GHMC areas. Two sets of satellite imageries for October 2015 and March 2016 will be procured and all the constructions which have come up between October 2015 and
March 2016 will be listed and compared with both the images. While this is the second attack on GHMC staff in the last one week, a GHMC tax inspector and a bill collector, who were collecting property tax, were allegedly beaten up by house owners in the Banjara Hills area on Saturday. A case has been registered at the Banjara Hills police station.
