Tirupati: A 29-year-old married woman on Saturday hanged herself to death from the ceiling at her residence in Kuppam town, Chittoor district.
The deceased identified as Chandra Jyothi of Madanapalle was reportedly being harassed by her husband.
According to Kuppam (Urban) CI G.T. Naidu, the woman was teacher at the Zilla Parishad School in Gudupalli mandal. Her husband Sarath Kumar works at a private bank.
According to their relatives, since their marriage last year, they had been fighting often due to misunderstandings between them. There were also allegations of dowry harassment.
