Thiruvananthapuram: The joint meeting of the CBSE managers and principals organised by Kerala CBSE School Management Association has asked the Union and state governments to resolve the conflict between their laws governing them.
The state government should issue certificates for submitting to the CBSE for extending the recognition without delay. The CBSE should also give the schools adequate time for required documents.
The meeting also pointed out that many provisions in the CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws 2018’, giving more control to the state over the functioning of such schools were against their interest.
Association president T. P. M. Ibrahim Khan while speaking at the meeting held here on Saturday said that if provisions detrimental to the interest of the schools continue many of them would have to shut down.
DGP Loknath Behera, inaugurating the meeting, said that while the standard of education in the state was very high there needed improvement in English teaching.
Former chief secretary K. Jayakumar stressed the need for giving more importance to the teaching of mother tongue like that in Tamilnadu.
Former higher education council chair T. P. Sreenivasan said that there was a need to raise the education sector into global standards.
V. S. Sivakumar MLA, Association district pre-sident T. Sathishkumar and state vice-president C. P. Kunhimohammed were among those who attended the meeting.
