Nellore: Large number of youth took part in the bull race held at Bopparajupalle in Ramachandrapuram mandal, Mambedu and Gopalapuram villages in Vedurukuppam mandal of Chittoor district on Wednesday.
The youth vied with each other to snatch the slates tied to the horns of the bulls and some of the youth sustained minor injuries in the process. People from different parts of Chittoor and neighbouring Tamil Nadu thronged the venues to witness the dangerous sport.
They occupied every vantage point and upstairs of buildings to watch the bull race. Cattle owners performed Puja to the cattle in sheds arranged for the occasion in different parts of the villages and driven them by scaring with drums.
