Hyderabad: Cyber crime police said it might take a few days to get a response from social media platforms regarding the 10 videos that were uploaded on YouTube, linking YSRC leader Y.S. Sharmila with a popular Telugu actor after which it will take action.

“We have raised an inquiry and are waiting for a response from YouTube and Facebook regarding the alleged derogatory videos uploaded on the platforms by unidentified persons with an intention to malign Ms Sharmila,” said cyber crimes, Hyderabad, additional deputy commissioner K.C.S. Raghuvir.

On Monday, Ms Sharmila along with her husband Anil Kumar and other party leaders met Hyderabad city police commissioner Anjani Kumar at his office in Basheerbagh and lodged a complaint, requesting him to take action against people who were uploading the videos. Mr Kumar asked officials of the Central Crime Station to investigate the case.

The police commissioner instructed Mr Raghuvir to probe the case that was registered against the persons under Section 67 of the IT Act.
