Bengaluru: A city-based doctor has been booked for sexually abusing a woman by promising to marry her.
The Banaswadi police who have registered a case under Sections 417 and 306 of IPC are looking for Dr V.L. Manoj Kumar, who is absconding. According to the complainant, Dr Kumar, a resident of HBR Layout, befriended her on a matrimonial website. Thereafter the duo started dating and after he promised to marry her they began having physical relationship.
The woman told police that her mother had created her profile on the matrimonial website in 2016. It was then Kumar expressed interest and proposed.
He then called her to his residence in Kalyan Nagar in HBR Layout and had sex with her. Later they continued their physical relationship. But when she demanded that he should marry him, the doctor kept providing excuses. Fed up with false promises, the woman lodged a police complaint.
