Hyderabad: Plaint against traffic police for rude behaviour
Hyderabad: A complaint was filed against two traffic cops who challenged a vehicle owner when he questioned their rude behaviour. The angry vehicle owner also clicked pictures of the policemen.
The complaint submitted online to the Hyderabad traffic police says, “Ramesh and Sadanand (city traffic cops) resorted to rude behaviour. For questioning, they fined false challans, a complaint was registered @HYDTP official page same day, before challaning. I was fined and same was reported, no action taken.”
While this was not a lone case, there are several complaints about the rude behaviour of policemen and even wrong challans issued.
Aman Makani filed a complaint with the Indian Consumer Forum stating, “I had parked my vehicle in front of a shop and I was issued a fine of Rs 1,000 by a traffic police. I questioned the officer saying it was not a no-parking zone and I had parked it in front of a shop and the area was meant for parking.
When I questioned him further, the cop issued another challan of Rs 200 stating my vehicle comes under the heavy vehicle category though in reality it was a light vehicle. Moreover, they hadn’t taken any photo of my vehicle as well. Also, the way they spoke to me was extremely rude.”
When contacted, officials at the Hyderabad traffic said complaints concerning wrong challans should be brought to their notice and the matter would be investigated. In case it was about the rude behaviour of the officer, the matter would be heard and if he had done wrong, action would be taken.
