Harish Rao invites AP Water Resources Minister for RDS meeting

He said the meeting is required as to find a solution for the RDS project that helps all the three states.

Hyderabad: Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao on Tuesday has written to AP water resources minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao seeking his participation in the tripartite meeting with Karnataka and Telangana in Hyderabad for an amicable solution to the long pending Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS) modernisation works.

In his letter to the AP minister, Mr Rao said that during the recent visit of Karnataka water resources minister M.B. Patil has assured to complete the modernisation works of RDS by July, 2018 if the AP government extends cooperation from their side and desires to have a tripartite meeting of all the three ministers in this regard.

Even the last year, Mr Rao requested the Andhra Pradesh government to convene a joint meeting of ministers to resolve the issue as the AP government’s cooperation required for completing the RDS works.

He asked the AP minister to indicate two dates for participation in the meeting so that same thing can be informed to the Karnataka minister.

He said the meeting is required as to find a solution for the RDS project that helps all the three states.
