People Have Lost Trust in YSRC: Naidu

Two ruling party MLAs join TD

VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu claimed that a change of government after three months was inevitable as the people of the state were firm on bringing down the YSRC government.

He was speaking after two ruling party MLAs joined the TD in his presence on Friday. They included Vundavalli Sridevi (Tadikonda) and Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy (Udayagiri). Also joining Telugu Desam on the occasion was former MLC and handloom union leader Budati Radhakrishnaiah.

Welcoming them into the party fold, Naidu said the YSRC was losing its credibility as the people had lost trust in it.

"MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju was tortured by the police in custody for differing with Jagan. In my 45-year political career, I have never seen MLAs being transferred randomly. Among the 11 MLAs who were changed, five were dalits. Someone from the BC community must be allotted the Pulivendula seat", he said.

Naidu slammed Jagan Mohan Reddy for not releasing job calendars as he had promised and failure to provide jobs.

On the state capital issue, Naidu said, "I am sure even Jagan Mohan Reddy is not sure which is the capital of Andhra Pradesh. It has become a state with no capital. Before elections, he had said that Amaravati would be the capital, but he has not kept his word".

Naidu condemned the ruling party for the destruction of the agricultural sector and weaponising the state police force.

Recalling an incident where a person ended his life because the state government did not pay him his salary, Naidu said, "In a democracy, everyone should act as trustees of public funds and ensure better administration for the people. How many times have you seen Jagan Mohan Reddy interacting and caring about the people of the state?”
