Andhra Pradesh-Telangana deadlock over power staff

the management of TS power utilities informed the committee that it is willing to take the 504 employees and also out of the 256 TS-bound employees.

Hyderabad: The stalemate continues over the division of employees of power utilities between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state.

Since the management of the AP power utilities did not accept the proposal made by the Telangana power utilities management, the Justice Dharmadhikari committee, which met here on Sunday with the managements of power utilities of both states, expressed its displeasure at the AP authorities.

According to the employees of the TS power utilities, the committee which had met on October 4 and 5 of this year issued proceedings to both the states that 613 employees out of 1,157 employees who have been relieved from TS have to be adjusted in AP power utilities; the remaining 504 have to be taken back by TS as per their native option.

While issuing the proceedings, Justice Dharmadhikari had directed the AP authorities to come back with the details of 256 employees who had opted for Telangana state, without reference to the 1,157 employees (mentioned above) at the next date of the meeting.

When the committee met on Sunday, the management of TS power utilities informed the committee that it is willing to take the 504 employees and also out of the 256 TS-bound employees, it will take 128 employees. It will also take back 242 employees belonging to TS who are working in Andhra Pradesh.

The TS power employees alleged that though the authorities stepped down and agreed to take 874 employees, the managements of the AP power utilities did not accept this proposal.
