Hyderabad: The SHE teams have stopped the child marriage of a 16-year-old girl. On receiving information that she was getting married to a 23-year-old, Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat, “Kushaiguda division SHE team went there and explained about the problems of child marriages and counseled both parents and rescued the girl. The victim was shifted to Nimboliadda girls rescue home.
In another case, the SHE team in Bhongir division received information that a 17-year-old girl was being married off to a 23-year-old person at Borabanda.
The marriage was scheduled for on December 12 at Thirumalapur village.
“On receiving information, our Bhongir Division SHE team along with the local police went and counselled the parents against child marriages and rescued the minor girl,” added the police official.
