Telangana norms for teacher test upheld
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court has upheld the action of the Telangana state government and Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) in prescribing a graduate or post-graduate degree in mathematics with 50 per cent marks, and BEd with mathematics as a methodology for appointment as school assistant (mathematics).
A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice G. Shyam Prasad was dismissing a petition by one K. Sanjeeva Rao challenging the government and the TSPSC for not including candidates with BTech and BEd degrees in the eligibility criteria for schools assistants for maths and physical sciences.
The PSC said the petitioner did not have mathematics as a subject in his graduation which he had completed from Osmania University.
