Hyderabad: A four-year-old boy was smothered to death by unknown persons in Bhavaninagar on Friday. Locals found the body in a bag lying near the railway line in Mohd Nagar. Police suspect involvement of family members in the crime. The has city witnessed similar incidents of killing of minors in the recent past.
Police said the boy was identified as Mohd Omar, son of Mohd Aizaz Ali and Anjuman Begum.
“He had gone missing from his home in Mohd Nagar of Bhavaninagar since 4 am in the morning on Friday. Local residents found the boy’s body at an isolated place at around 5.30 pm and reported it to the police.
Based on clues gathered, police suspect the role of the immediate relatives of the deceased in the crime, said the DCP, South Zone, V. Satyanarayana. “We suspect that this could be an internal family matter. The boy must have seen an illegal intimacy among the family members, following which he may have been killed to keep him from spilling the beans,” the DCP said, adding that they would get further leads after the postmortem report is submitted.
