Daily hearing at Hyderabad High Court of power staff case
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday informed the Hyderabad High Court that it had not arrived at a consensus with the TS government over distribution of employees of power utilities.
Following this, a division bench comprising Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy and Justice M.S.K. Jaiswal decided to hear the case of 1,200 electricity employees challenging their allocation to AP by the Telangana state government on merits on a day-to-day basis.
AP Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas said the action of the TS government in reliving the power employees without apportioning the assets and liabilities of the combined institution listed in the 10th Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014 was against to the spirit of the Act.
Dr K. Lakshmi Narasimha, counsel appearing for some of the petitioners, said that there was no need for the allocation process among the power utilities because even prior to the bifurcation also these utilities had divided between the two states.
