Lucknow: The fledgling Apna Dal, which is the only ally of the BJP in UP, has almost split with an outfit called Apna Dal (Sonelal) being registered with the Election Commission of India even as the dispute between Union minister Anupriya Patel and her estranged mother Krishna Patel over Apna Dal is pending in court.
The new party, Apna Dal (S) is said to have the backing of Ms Anupriya Patel and has been formed by Jawahar Lal Patel, who is among the founder members of the party. Apna Dal, a Kurmi based outfit, was founded by Dr Sonelal Patel in 1995.
