M Karunanidhi hospitalised again
CHENNAI: DMK president M. Karunanidhi was on Thursday night admitted to Kauvery Hospitals here, nine days after he was discharged following a week long treatment. Mr Karunanidhi, who was discharged from the hospital on December 7, was taking rest at home after doctors advised him complete treat. The 93-year-old former Chief Minister was admitted to Kauvery Hospitals on December 1 for "optimisation of nutrition and hydration".
DMK sources said he was admitted to the hospital with "severe cold". He was admitted to the hospital around 11.15 pm and he was taken in his own vehicle. The hospital was expected to issue a detailed statement after initial tests. DMK treasurer M. K. Stalin and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi accompanied him to the hospital, sources said. The DMK chief had not been keeping well for sometime and became sick after he developed drug induced allergy in October and since then he has not been seen in public functions.
