New plea in Telangana High Court urges quick end to strike

The petition was filed by Prof. P.L. Vishweshwar Rao, Convener and vice-president of Telangana Jana Samiti.

Hyderabad: Professing that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s “provocative and inhuman statements” had driven 24 employees to death, including by way of cardiac arrest and suicide, a PIL has been filed before Telangana High Court seeking to direct the government to initiate steps to resolve the issue forthwith.

The petition was filed by Prof. P.L. Vishweshwar Rao, Convener and vice-president of Telangana Jana Samiti.

Requesting the court to direct the government, TSRTC and the labour commissioner to start negotiations and to direct clearance of salaries, he mentioned Chief Secretary and others as respondents.

Meanwhile, Justice Abhinandan Kumar Shavili adjourned writ petitions seeking a direction to the TSRTC to pay salaries.
