Rally blocks road, MIM booked at Malakpet
HYDERABAD: The followers of the AIMIM have been creating a ruckus at Malakpet with their bike rallies. They halted traffic for a while with their rallies on the main road at Malakpet chaman on Wednesday. During the rally, a person who was trying out bike stunt accidentally fell and sustained severe injuries. He was immediately rushed to a hospital by the locals and police personnel who were present at the spot.
The video of the youth doing bike stunts went viral on social media. Mr M Niranjan Reddy, Malakpet traffic inspector, said, “The bike stunt happened near the the Chermas’ signal in Malakpet. Though there was a traffic jam, it was just for a while for about 10 minutes. We immediately cleared the traffic and informed the incident to the Chaderghat police.”
A Chaderghat police officer said, “We have booked a case on the MIM for obstructing the main road and not following the order of a public servant.”
The Chaderghat police registered a case under IPC Sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and provisions of the City Police Act.
Throughout the day, political party leaders took out rallies that choked arterial roads and left commuters annoyed.
Mr Md Mujeeb Khan, a social activist from the Old City, said, “There were traffic snarls throughout the day all over the Old City. After filing the nominations, they also took out a bike rally till the evening. The youth who participated in the bike rally stopped the traffic and did bike stunts on the main road which irritated the commuters.”
Many leaders filed their nominations in the Old City on Thursday.
