Chandigarh: A wedding in Haryana’s Karnal town turned into a nightmare for the groom, after one of his guests, a self-proclaimed godwoman decided to celebrate his big day with gun fire and ended up killing his aunt and injuring three others.
According to reports, Sadhvi Deva Thakur, who is known for her love for guns, was invited at the wedding and began to fire guns along with some other men while celebrating at the venue on Tuesday.
She was caught on camera wearing saffron coloured clothes and shooting a gun in front of a stage. The stage was a dance floor where guests were already gathered and a man goes up to the stage and fires a rifle in the air.
Thakur too is seen firing shots in the air again. She later allegedly shot the groom’s aunt by mistake and fled the scene as soon as the woman collapsed.
Police said that it was a case of celebratory fire gone wrong but they are charging the godwoman with murder.
