Convene session to discuss impact of demonetisation: Congress To KCR
Hyderabad: Leaders of Opposition in the TS Assembly and Legislative Council K. Jana Reddy and Mohd. Ali Shabbir on Tuesday demanded Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao immediately convene the Legislature session to discuss the impact of demonetisation on the state revenues as well as the financial problems being faced by both the state and the people.
In a statement, the two Congress leaders said that financial crisis had worsened due to lopsided financial management of the government and the state was not in a position to even pay salaries to its employees from next month. “The welfare schemes boasted of by the government were only on paper due to financial crunch,” they said.
The Congress leaders said that it appeared that bigwigs in TRS and also the state administration were aware of the NDA government’s decision to ban '500 and '1,000 currency notes and were engaged in remedial actions to save their skin.
“The common man is put to a lot of misery but the CM is silent,” they said.
