Bengaluru: The fifth accused in Maasthigudi tragedy case, S. Bharath, who was absconding, surrendered before the Tavarekere police on Tuesday morning. Bharath was the unit manager in the production team and was absconding since November 7 after two actors drowned in the TG Halli Lake after jumping from a helicopter while shooting for the climax scene of the movie. The police, who recorded the statement of Bharath, produced him before the court and remanded him to judicial custody. The police had arrested film's producer Sundar P. Gowda, while the other three accused - director Nagashekhar, assistant director Siddu and stunt choreographer Ravi Varma - surrendered on Saturday. All the five accused are now lodged at Ramanagar District Jail.
