850 water lines cut in Hyderabad
Those who ignored the appeal face disconnection.
Hyderabad: The Metro water board authorities have disconnected 850 commercial and residential connections in the last three days. The board had earlier appealed to defaulters to avail the HMWS&SB offer of accepting banned notes to clear their bills.
Those who ignored the appeal face disconnection. On Tuesday, 330 connections were cut in various divisions.
Managing Director of HMWS&SB, Mr Dana Kishore said, “Customers whose connections were cut had not been paying bills for the last six months. There was no below-the-poverty customer whose line was cut.”
The MD added, “Those not clearing their pending bills will be imposed interest which is negotiable. There are over 80,000 connections who have not paid their bills for six months.”
