28 year-old man lynched, dies in Nizamabad

The villagers caught Gangadhar on Monday midnight in Dharmora village, while he had allegedly been trying to commit theft in the Mahalaxmi temple.

Nizamabad: In a shocking incident, a 28 year-old youth was beaten to death in Dharmora village of Makloor mandal on the pretext of theft. The victim has been identified as Ganta Gangadhar of Arsapally in Nizamabad. The villagers caught Gangadhar on Monday midnight in Dharmora village, while he had allegedly been trying to commit theft in the Mahalaxmi temple.

A section of villagers tied up the accused to an electrical pole and indiscriminately beat up him. Following the complaint on Dial 100, police rushed to Dharmora village on Monday midnight and shifted the victim in a 108 Ambulance. While undergoing treatment, Gangadhar succumbed to his injuries at Government General Hospital in Nizamabad on Tuesday.

Gangadhar was a native of Arsapally and staying at Khanapur village.

By profession, he was a mason and stayed with with family wherever he worked. Reportedly, Gangadhar left from home on Monday night at 7 pm and the next thing was that his family members received information that he was admitted in Government General Hospital. After the post-mortem. Makloor SI, D. Sainath, handed over the body to the family members.

Gangadhar is survived by his wife and a three month-old daughter. Following the complaint of Laxmi, wife of Ganta Gangadhar, the Makloor police registered a case against the Dharmora villagers.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Nizamabad rural CI, T. Srinath Reddy, said that Gangadhar had a past history of criminal cases. There were cases against him under the I and III town police stations in Nizamabad and the VI town police issued a suspect sheet against him recently.
