Pandalam Palace to attend talks

TDB prez calls meet on Sabari opening.

Thiruvananthapuram: Sasikumar Varma, president of the Pandalam Palace Coordination Committee, has said that he will attend the meeting called by Travancore Devaswom Board president A. Padmakumar on Tuesday at the TDB headquarters to discuss the arrangements for the opening of Sabarimala temple on Wednesday evening.

He will be accompanied by the Sabarimala tantri family and office-bearers of Tantra Vidya Peetam, Ayyappa Seva Sangham and Ayyappa Seva Samajam.

Meanwhile, Kerala Pulaya Maha Sabha (KPMS) said it will intensify protest against the LDF Government if they do not implement the Supreme Court verdict.

Mr. Varma is keen to see that the meeting called by TDB president will ensure what the stakeholders of the Sabarimala temple have to say. He told DC that the crux of the discussion is going to be on what stand the TDB would take. He called upon the TDB authorities not to change the age-old tradition and practices at Sabarimala.

"We along with the NSS leadership and several other organisations including 'Ready to Wait' campaigners have filed a review petition against the Supreme Court verdict. We filed the review petition as a consortium. But we have never bothered to discuss the politics behind the Sabarimala issue to NSS leadership", Sasikumar Varma told DC.

Meanwhile, Kerala Pulaya Maha Sabha president Punnala Sreekumar has opined that social justice would not be met if there is a majority consolidation.

He called forsecular unity and welcomed the Supreme Court verdict. Punnala has threatened the LDF Government that he along with his supporters would initiate a protest if they shy away from implementing the Supreme Court verdict.
