Hyderabad: The Returning Officer at Ibrahimpatnam seized Rs 27.35 lakh belonging to Telangana Rashtra Samithi Adibatla Upa Sarpanch Palle Gopal Goud on Monday evening.
Gopal Goud was returning from Polepalli in Nalgonda district when his car (AP 09 ET 1135) and was intercepted by a team of flying squad near Gurunanak Engineering College in Ibrahimpatnam as part of vehicle checking. The squad was working under the supervision of Ibrahimpatnam Returning Officer RDO C. Amarendar.
The officials said that Gopal Goud claimed that he went to Polepalli in connection with purchase of a land, but as the land owner was not well, the registration process was postponed and he was returning home with the cash. The cash was handed over to IT officials.
