Underground drainage system for villages in AP
Kakinada: Villages which have more than 5, 000 inhabitants in the district will be provided with underground drainage systems soon.
Labour welfare minister Pithani Satyanarayana announced the development regarding underground drainage system while taking part in 'Intintiki Telugu Desam' at Achanta in West Godavari district on Sunday. “Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is focusing on plans to improve hygienic conditions of people in villages and small towns. In a recent meeting he promised to lay cement roads in all villages that have more than 5,000 inhabitants. He is planning to provide drinking water and infrastructure facilities to all villages in the state in a phased manner,” Mr Satyanarayana said.
He said that every household would be given permanent houses and eligible beneficiaries have been identified. Mr Satyanarayana suggested that everyone should participate in 'Swachh Bharat' programme to make their villages clean. He also said that every family should grow plants and trees for greenery and protect the environment.
The minister also inaugurated 'Anna Sanjeevani Generic Medical Shop' at Marteru village of Penumantra mandal in the district. On the occasion, he requested doctors to prescribe generic medicines for public benefit.
