HYDERABAD: In view of rising complaints of bike racing around KBR Park, Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills police conducted a special drive against the racers on Saturday night. They seized 27 vehicles from riders who were mostly aged between 20 to 30 years. Cases have been booked against them under MV sections 184 (dangerous driving) and 189 (racing).
West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police B Koteswara Rao said the riders were counselled about consequences of dangerous driving with real-life examples. “We have also instructed parents of riders to attend the counselling session. If any of these riders participates in racing again, they will be booked under IPC and prosecuted,” the ACP warned.
