Bazm E Niswan: A platform for women to dream high

Having helped thousands, they aim to give relief, self-confidence and dignity to the affected from economically weaker backgrounds.

Bengaluru: The Bazm E Niswan Charitable Trust, an organisation of women, for women, has been meeting the challenges faced by the underprivileged sections of society for over 45 years. Their focus is education, social development, economic upliftment and moral reformation of women from poorer sections.

Having helped thousands, they aim to give relief, self-confidence and dignity to the affected from economically weaker backgrounds. The organisation has evolved offering services with an innovative approach.

Ms Husna Ziaullah Shariff , president, Bazm E Niswan, says, “Bazm has emerged as a premier women’s organization in Karnataka with the vision to spread its movement to the entire country. We have been actively engaged in aiding and empowering several thousands of women of all ages, especially those from the weaker sections of society for the last 45 years. With the firm belief that everyone deserves a helping hand and the right to live in dignity, Bazm has launched many initiatives, all designed to make women self-sufficient by boosting their self-confidence and providing them with opportunities to be socially relevant."

Bazm E Niswan helps women with education and socio-economic upliftment, and also offers emergency relief to victims of physical abuse and economic deprivation. It has strived to create a healthy atmosphere for battered women in the community and help them lead a normal life.

“One of our major programmes is offering scholarships to meritorious but economically weaker students to pursue higher education. Since 1974, more than 61,000 girls have benefited from the scheme. They have qualified as doctors, engineers and in many other professions. This year, around Rs 1.5 crore will be distributed among 3,800 girl students,” said Ayesha Nayab Ahmed, secretary, Bazm E Niswan.

The trust team said that they strive to deliver care and help to those who live in a constant struggle, whose children and parents suffer from permanent loss and grief. “Help us achieve the greatest goal of bringing humanity and happiness to places where it is needed the most. They need your support,” they said.

Ms Husna Ziaullah Shariff said, “Bazm is doing your work to wipe a tear, reduce the pain, care for the destitute, educate a girl, feed a mouth, help a poor bride, and serve humanity in general. We appeal to all to extend support and contribute. Our volunteers may come to meet you.”
