Hyderabad: A specialised wing, City Rapid Action Force (CRAF) was initiated by the Hyderabad City Police to curb and deal with riots, riot like situations, crowd control, rescue and relief operations, and related unrest on Saturday.
The Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, Anjani Kumar, who launched the event, has announced the new vision for the police department in creating a safe and smart city stating, “there will now be a partnership between police and public through Community Policing for a stable society.”
The unit is equipped to attend to election duties, communal violence, law and order duties during festivals along side to controlling incidents of agitation. CRAF is anticipated to become the human face of the city police and is destined to bridge efforts by police officials to the public via prompt rescue and relief operations.
