Early dissolution of Assembly a bold move, says Kesava Rao

Mr Kesava Rao the TRS government had implemented most of the assurances that it had made during the 2014 elections.

Hyderabad: TRS secretary-general K. Kesava Rao said the dissolution of the Assembly nine months early was a courageous decision. He said the government had the right under the Constitution to dissolve the House. Mr Kesava Rao, TRS Rajya Sabha member, was responding to Mr Amit Shah’s criticism of the early dissolution of the Assembly. He said the TRS would win more seats in the ensuing elections than in 2014, and recent surveys had made this clear.

Mr Kesava Rao, who earlier in the day chaired the first meeting of the TRS manifesto committee, told mediapersons that the party would place a good manifesto before the people. He said that the TRS government had implemented most of the assurances that it had made during the 2014 elections. He said that the new manifesto would be completed in 15 days.

He said the committee had received 170 suggestions from several sections and of which it had discussed about 20. He said the committee had discussed the new assurances that needed to be added, and were not taking into considerations the manifestoes of other parties. Mr Kesava Rao said that in accordance with the rules a draft manifesto would be submitted to the Election Commission.
