Body of Missing Boy Found in Abandoned Well in Narsingi

Hyderabad: Body of a six-year-old boy G Banny who went missing from home on Tuesday afternoon, was found in an abandoned well at Narsingi of Cyberabad. Police suspect he could have accidentally fallen in the well. The well has no protection wall or any fence, to prevent people from falling accidentally in the well, especially after dark.

According to the police, the deceased boy's father G Balraj migrated along with his family from Mahabubnagar district a couple of years ago and the family was residing in Narsingi village.

Banny is studying in class I in a nearby school. On Tuesday, he came home from school after attending the flag hoisting function. Later in the afternoon, at around 3.30 p.m, he took money from his parents and went to a nearby shop to buy some snacks.

But when he did not return even after the usual time taken to make the purchase and come back, his parents started searching for him and later lodged a complaint with the police. Meanwhile, police after analysing CCTV in the locality found him moving near an abandoned well, located abutting their house.

On Wednesday morning, they noticed his body floating in the well and fire personnel along with DRF teams pulled out the body.

SI S Satish Kumar of Narsingi PS said that prima facie a case has been registered and the body will be handed over to his parents after a postmortem examination. “ Based on the postmortem examination report and other evidence, the investigation will proceed further,” he concluded.
