Bhadradri-Kothagudem to be made industrial hub, says Mahamood Ali

Khammam: Bhadradri-Kothagudem district will be turned into a industrial district by using the natural resources available here.

Home minister Mahamood Ali, who unfurled the National Flag in Kothagudem on Thursday, said that providing employment by promoting industries was the main concept of the government. He said that 24 industrial units were being set up in the district with an investment of Rs 34 crore so far through TS-iPass.

Mr Ali added that the government had extended Rs 6.58 core subsidy under ‘Telangana Pride’ and ‘Telangana Idea’ to set up 103 units. Another 104 applications had been forwarded to banks recommending them to extend loans to 104 units under PM’s Employment Generation Program. Mr Ali said that about 72,000 acres of ayacut were stabilised under the four phases of Mission Kakatiya. The government revived 1,293 tanks against 1,321 tanks in Bhadradri district by spending Rs 222 crore.

The 2BHK housing scheme is also progressing well, the minister said, and added that 1,644 2BHK houses were completed and distributed to the beneficiaries. In the medical and health field, he said that the government had extended better health services to the poor. He said that about 4.02 lakh persons had undergone blood pressure and diabetes tests and another 4.91 lakh persons had their eyes tested for free, in which 1.44 lakh persons were given spectacles free of cost.
