Nellore: Electrical substations being established in four towns
Nellore: Four electrical substations are being established in Nellore city, Kavali and Gudur towns at an estimated cost of Rs 11 crore to put an end to power shutdowns in these urban areas under Integrated Power Development Scheme. Similarly 7,168 transformers of 25KV and 16KV are being replaced to deal with the low voltage issues in agriculture sector in SPSR Nellore district.
District in-charge minister N. Amarnath Reddy has disclosed this while delivering customary speech after hoisting the National Flag during a colourful function to celebrate Independence Day at the Police Parade Grounds here on Tuesday. According to the minister, 484 solar pump sets have been distributed with a subsidy of around '13 crore last year and 129 solar pumps with a subsidy of Rs 3.50 crore have been given to the farmers so far this year.
He said the government of India gave clearance Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani) to set up an aluminum alloy plant at Bodduvaripalem in Kodavalur mandal of SPSR Nellore district. Land acquisition has been completed to establish various projects including National National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) at Venkatachalam, Passport Seva Kendra in Nellore, FM Radio Station at Kottur, Airport near Dagadarthi and fishing harbour at Juvvaladinne.
Nellore rural legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, MLC Beeda Ravichandra, NUDA chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, TD leader Bezawada Obul Reddy, former legislator M. Sreedhar Krishna Reddy and Kilari Venkateswari Naidu, collector R. Muthyala Raju, Joint Collector-2 Venkata Subba Reddy and SP P.H.D. Ramakrishna were present in the function among others.
