Sircilla: Officials and staff members belonging to agriculture market committees are seen allegedly consuming alcohol and dancing with beer bottles on the office premises in Rajanna Sircilla district during duty hours.
The scenes were caught on a video which was later uploaded on social media. The incident occurred at the Pothgal agricultural market yard of Mustabad mandal on Friday.
An official of Pothgal agricultural market committee had performed his house-warming ceremony and hosted a party for his colleagues from the Pothugal, Gabbiraopet, Yellareddypet and Sircilla agriculture market committees during office hours.
The video which was shot by one of the staff members who uploaded it on social media on Saturday which went viral.
Pothgal agriculture market committee secretary M. Indrasena Reddy and supervisor B. Rajendar along were said to be involved.
Locals criticised the agriculture market committee officials for their behaviour at the office during working hours and demanded that the authorities concerned take immediate action.
Collector D. Krishna Bhaskar, who took charge on Friday, has issued notices and memos asking the officials for an explanation. He also ordered an inquiry and sought a report.
After receiving the report, Mr Bhaskar suspended Mr Indrasena Reddy and supervisor Mr Rajendar with immediate affect.
