Hyderabad: Woman forced into prostitution
Hyderabad: A 26-year-old woman working at Lisbon restobar was allegedly physically abused and stripped on the road in front of the outlet late on Friday night by some persons who allegedly tried to push her into prostitution.
The accused have been identified as Syed Majid Hussain, 30, Errabelli Sandhya, 24, Jekka Sharvani, 20, Shamlet Rekha, 25 and Kodali Vijaya Reddy, 24. Except the main accused Hussain, all the other accused were arrested by the Panjagutta police.
The victim, who hails from AP, worked as a junior artiste in Tollywood for some time and was a dancer at the restobar.
She alleged in her complaint to the police that the staff of the bar tried to force her into prostitution. When she refused, she was beaten up. She recovered and called the police.
The Panjagutta police registered a case under IPC Sections 354 (assault or criminal force with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation), an official said.
