274 recruits pass out from MRC, Wellington
Ooty: Patriotic fervour with military spirit shrouded the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) at Wellington near here on Saturday which witnessed a colourful passing out parade in which 274 recruits were attested to the Indian army.
The 274 Recruits were attested into the Madras Regiment, the oldest Regiment of the Indian Army, at a glittering function held at the historic Shrinagesh Barracks at the MRC on Saturday morning. The gallant “Thambis” , as Jawans of MRC fondly known in army fraternity, after steering through 46 weeks tough and challenging training schedule could see their dreams come true on Saturday morning when they wore Olive greens and marched past the prestigious enclosed drill square to become part and parcel of the Indian army to take up the nation guarding duty.
The grand attestation parade was reviewed by Brigadier RS Guraya,Commandant of the MRC. He also congratulated the parents of the young soldiers at this moment of pride and glory.
