Chennai: A 34-year-old businessman and AMMK leader Dhinakaran’s supporter died after ramming into an unknown vehicle, near Poonamallee, on Thursday late night.
The deceased was identified as D. Chandramouli (34) of Thandukaran Street in Uthiramerur. He was also said to be Kancheepuram district secretary of Amma Pasarai and supporter of dissident AIADMK leader Dhinakaran.
The incident happened when Chandramouli was heading to Perungalatur from Porur on his two-wheeler at around 11.45 pm on Thursday. “When he was near a private college in Poonamallee, he rammed into a vehicle. He suffered severe injuries and died on the spot,” the police said.
Other motorists on the road informed the Poonamallee traffic investigation police about the incident and cops rushed to the spot. The police also sent the body to a nearby government hospital for the post-mortem. The Poonamallee traffic investigation police have registered a case and are investigating.
