BJP's netas meet Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Anil Kumble and HS Doreswamy
Bengaluru: As part of the BJP's Sampark for Samarthan programme, which is intended to reach out to celebrities and prominent individuals from all walks of life and acquaint them with the achievements of the Modi government, Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore met Biocon chairperson, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, and cricketer Anil Kumble in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Interestingly, BJP general secretary and former minister, C.T. Ravi met freedom fighter, H.S.Doreswamy too although he is a vocal critic of the saffron party.
While Mr Doreswamy opened the doors of his home to the BJP delegation headed by Mr. Ravi, he reportedly asked some tough questions about the party’s agenda to make India a strong Hindu nation.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Mr. Ravi said he planned to interact with 25 important personalities in the state, including Kannada actors, Puneet Rajkumar and Yesh, former Lokayukta Santosh Hegde, cricketer Rahul Dravid and other sports personalities.
"This initiative will continue till June 30. During these meetings we will explain the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the last four years, what changes he has brought in, the corruption- free government he has provided and the infrastructure development the country has seen. We will give them a booklet explaining everything,” he added, revealing that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s central leadership had deputed 25 “pramuks” to carry out the initiative in the state.
“The party has also advised state chief, B S Yeddyurappa and its MPs to meet some important personalities,” he said.
As part of the programme, BJP national president, Amit Shah, himself met Tata Group chairman, Ratan Tata, Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit and others in Mumbai recently.
