5-km footpath at Jubilee Hills cost Rs 5 crore
Hyderabad: The five-km designer footpath from Jubilee Hills check post to Cyber Towers was built at a cost of Rs 5 crore, said Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited managing director N.V.S. Reddy. HMRL craved out the sidewalks and quality public space ranging from eight to 22 feet with specially made designer tillers and paver blocks.
Planter boxes were created with shade giving and ornamental plans. To prevent two wheelers from riding on the footpath, bollards have been placed on both sides.
“Saucer drains have been built between the new footpath and the edge of the road for the first time in Hyderabad. These drains are connected to the stormwater drains,” Mr Reddy said. He said Next Galleria, which is a part of L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited’s transit oriented development project, will get a 400-seater food court soon by Urban Asia. The mall is built over the parking area of the Hitec City Metro Station. On Friday, Mr Reddy inaugurated a unit of Taj Mahal Hotel at the mall.
