Engineering seats cut down by 14,000 in Telangana
HYDERABAD: A total of 14,000 seats have been reduced in university and private engineering colleges of Telangana for the upcoming academic year.
The state has 201 government and private engineering colleges with 90,011 seats. There are 61,441 convenor seats open this year, down by 9,000 seats from last year.
“The total number of seats for Osmania University is 420 and 1,380 seats have been allotted to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. Kakatiya University has been allotted 825 seats and Mahatma Gandhi University 180 seats. Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University has been allowed an intake of 160. We hope that this year, the issue of empty seats after admission is reduced,” says B. Srinivas, Camp Officer.
Elsewhere on Thursday, officials completed EAMCET certificate verification for engineering courses till Rank 36,000. The verification will continue till June 26 and the allotments will be released on June 28.
