Vijayawada: The Telugu Desam on Thursday suspended its MLC Deepak Reddy from the party till the time his name is cleared of involvement in the Miyapur land scam.
The TD co-ordination committee that met here today, discussed Mr Deepak Reddy’s arrest in connection with the land scam and decided to suspend him from the party. Mr Deepak Reddy is the nephew of Anantapur TD MP J.C. Diwakar Reddy.
The TD had earlier suspended another of its MLCs — Vakati Narayana Reddy following registration of a CBI case against him in connection with a bank loan default case.
Mr Deepak Reddy is facing allegations of forging land records and encroaching lands.
The CCS police had registered a case against him for encroaching 3.37 acres of land in the posh Banjara Hills locality at Road No. 2 under survey No. 129/71 by forging documents.
AP TD president and energy minister Kala Venkat Rao confirmed Mr Deepak Reddy’s suspension from party till the time his name is cleared of all charges.
