Rajanna Sircilla: TRS working president and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao has come to the rescue of the Gulf victim Md Sameer who posted a video appealing Mr Rama Rao to help him return to India.
According to sources, Mr Rama Rao in a tweet requested the ‘Ambassador at the Indian Embassy in Riyad to help Sameer return to India’.
Sameer is a native of Illanthakunta in Rajanna Sircilla district who had travelled to the Gulf country in search of better job prospects.
Sameer in video post alleged that an agent had taken `83,000 and promised to get him a good job in the Gulf. However the ground reality was completely different.
Sameer said, “I was forced to look after cattle and was not given food regularly. When I refused to work, they beat me up.”
On the instruction of Mr Rama Rao, the Telangana NRI department officials are trying to bring Sameer to back to India with the help of the officials there.
