Yadadri: Contractor's negligence claims life
Hyderabad: The alleged negligence of a private contractor executing a culvert construction work claimed the life of a 25-year-old at Pochannapet on the outskirts of Yadadri district. Gopaldas Suman, a resident of Boduppal, who was riding back home, took to a prohibited diversion as the contractor had not put up any barricades. A case of accidental death has been booked against the contractor.
Sadly, Suman was engaged just 20 days ago.
Suman, a car driver, was returning home on Saturday night after attending a function. A culvert was being constructed on the road connecting Bachannapet and Alair. There were two diversions, one for the commuters, and the other for the vehicles deployed for work. The contractor had not erected any barricades or signages on this diversion.
Suman took the wrong diversion and entered a bumpy area. “He lost control of his bike and landed on the centring rods projecting from the partly constructed culvert. Five rods pierced his body and he was shifted to GandhI Hospital, where he succumbed on Tuesday.’ said Bachannapet SI M Bharath.”
Suman’s relatives blamed the contractor for his death. “We demand strict action against the contractor,” said Suman’s uncle G Narsing.
