Hyderabad: Telangana Urdu Trained Teachers Association has demanded the de-reservation of 105 unfilled vacancies of PGT, TGT Urdu posts at the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) to give fair chances to Urdu teachers on merit basis.
Mr Quazi Mohammad Shajiuddin, general secretary from Telangana Urdu Trained Teachers Association, said, “Appointments are being done for all subjects including Urdu language for the first time, but due to the roster system, only a few seats are left for Urdu language. The roster system allows certain number of seats to be allotted to individual categories like SC and ST and since Muslims do not fall into any of these categories, 105 Urdu aspirants have been put into the backlog.”
Mr Izhar Hussain, state council member of Telangana Urdu Trained Teachers Association, said, “Nearly 105 residential schools are going to be affected and almost 10,000 children will lose the chance to learn the language. As Urdu is the mother tongue of most of the minority students, the government should take necessary action and appoint teachers as soon as possible.”
