Parents association seeks relief to plus-1 students
Tamil Nadu Students-Parents Welfare Association has sought relief for the plus 1 students who had written the first public exam under the new question paper pattern this year.
In a representation to the Director of Government Examinations, S.Arumainathan, president of the association has said the DGE has suddenly adapted new type of questions without informing the students and teachers.
"The students are trained under the rote memory system so far. They could not adapt to the new changes. Particularly, a majority of the students are saying the maths exam was very tough and many students could not clear the exam," he said.
The plus one results are scheduled to be released on May 30. "So, many parents are distressed. So, DGE should give relief to the plus 1 students who wrote the exam under new pattern for the first time," he demanded.
There are reports saying nearly 50% of students could not clear the plus 1 maths exam this year. As per the new pattern, the students who are not able to clear the plus 1 board exams will be allowed to move to plus 2. They could clear the subjects in the plus 2.
