Mahatma Gandhi University declares degree results in 17 days
KOCHI: The Mahatma Gandhi University on Tuesday declared the degree final semester exam results in a record time of seventeen days, bringing smiles to the faces of students of the varsity. The results of the CBCSS BA, BSc and BCom courses were declared on Tuesday. The results were declared on July 15 in 2016 and May 31 in 2017. The exams which started on March 16 ended on April 27. The exams were held in 112 UG courses in 192 affiliated colleges. A total of 8,774 students had appeared for BA exam, 11,438 students for BSc , 18,390 students for BCom and 6,055 students for the new generation courses exam.
A total of 6,916 students passed the BA exam (78.82 per cent), 9149 students in BSc exam (79.98 percent), 14,790 students (80.42 per cent) in BCom and 4,086 students (80.69 per cent) in new generation courses. The university said in a release that the final results have been declared now. The applications for scrutiny and revaluation will be accepted till May 31. MG University vice-chancellor Dr Babu Sebastian attributed the achievement of publishing the results in record time to the co-ordination and exemplary work undertaken at the administrative level and among teachers and staff.
“The 1,90,000 answer scripts of 41,000 students were taken after processing to eight zonal valuation camps. The Syndicate members also oversaw the proceedings at the valuation camps to make it effective and fast,” said Dr Babu Sebastian adding he himself also monitored the overall proceedings to ensure that it finished in record time without any flops.
