Hyderabad: Men present in the women’s coach of Hyderabad Metro Rail has got women tweeting and clicking pictures showing how there is no proper guidance at the station level and how many of them are still unaware.
Pink stickers have been pasted on the pillars stating “Women only” but many of them are not aware of it and require ground staff help.
Even women are not aware as they are found all over the platform.
Tweets from different groups along with pictures are being posted on the L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail and Hyderabad Metro Rail to show the communication gap that exists at the ground level.
Harika Buddhavarapu has directly tweeted to KTR saying, “We thought this was an only ladies coach. There has to be someone guiding the men or there has to be some way out for them to understand (sic).”
L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail has replied that the ladies coach was only for women during both peak and non-peak hours. Announcements were being made at the platform level so that men and women were aware.
A senior L&T officer explained, “These are teething problems as earmarking clearly is difficult. But stickers have been put at pillars.
“We will be having more visibility at the station level to clear the confusion.”
