Missing boy's father moves Hyderabad High Court
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the Telangana police to produce a girl before it on May 18 and also to file a detailed affidavit on the investigation it had carried out to trace one Amboji Naresh who has been missing since May 2, 2017.
Amboji Venkataiah, father of the missing boy, had moved a house motion on Monday before the vacation bench comprising of Justice P. Naveen Rao and Justice M.S.K. Jaiswal, seeking a writ of habeas corpus.
The petitioner brought to the notice of the court that the girl belongs to the Reddy community and she had secretly married his son Amboji Naresh, who was her classmate, on March 25 in Mumbai.
Following insistence and enticement of the girl’s father, the couple, after a month of living together in Mumbai, reached their native place Bhongir on May 2. Soon after, the girl was taken away by her father and the boy went missing.
Mr Venkataiah said that the father of the girl is an influential businessman with a criminal track record. He said that he feared harm to his son, who has gone missing soon after reaching Bhongir.
The petitioner submitted that he works as a coolie in Mumbai and his son was in native Bhongir for pursuing studies. Counsel for the government informed the bench that investigation was going on in the case of the missing person.
Counsel confirmed that the girl and boy had reached Bhongir town on May 2 and the mobile phone signal of Naresh was detected at Uppal on May 3 and after that, there were no signals.
He also informed the bench that the girl attempted suicide recently. Counsel for the petitioner N.S. Arjun Kumar brought to the notice of the bench the complaint given by the girl in a Mumbai police station in which she expressed fear of harassment by her father.
The bench directed the respondents to produce the girl before court on May 18 and also to file an affidavit on the investigation conducted so far and adjourned the matter.
